HomeMy WebLinkAboutFebruary 15, 1972 A special meeting of the Grow Township Zoning and Planning Commission was held February 15, 1972 at Crooked Lake school. Chairman Norm Stout called the meeting to order at 7:35PM with Commission members Christenson, Ho1asek, Jones, Langseth, Nash and Rither present. Myron Roseland also present. Stout stated that the meeting was called to consider the Roseland application for a Special Use Permit. Christenson asked when the Public Hearing had been held. Holasek stated that the notice had been published in the paper. Rither reviewed the activities that had taken place since the regular Commission meeting held on January 25, 1972; (1) The Public Hearing was scheduled for the January 25 meeting but that Roseland did not appear as required by the Ordinance. (2} During the January 25 meeting, a member of the Town Board called Roseland's house and was told that Roseland was out plowing the township roads, was stuck and would attempt to get Roseland to the meeting. (3) Commission passed over the Roseland hearing in hopes that Roseland would appear before adjourn- ment. (4) Commission tabled action on the Permit until the next regular meeting. Rither noted that there were extenuating circumstances in that Roseland was out plowing roads, was stuck and therefore prevented from appearing at the meeting but that the Ordinance requires the petitioner to be present. Nash noted that if action was tabled until the next regular meeting, why, then, should [the Hearing] be held at any other time. Roseland stated that no one showed up at the meeting to complain. Nash stated that he had no objection to that but the outcome would be questionable. Stout stated that Supervisor Schneider had asked to get the meeting going. Stout asked what should we do? Jones stated that if there is no reason for our meeting then there is no reason for a motion. Rither stated that ~veh though"no one appeared at the January 25 meeting to oppose the Permit, to take action at a special meeting could lead to repercussions later on if someone objected to the manner in which it was handled. Roseland Special Use application to be considered at the February 29, 1972 meeting. It was moved by Rither and seconded by Christenson to adjourn. Carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:47 PM. Robert A. Rither, Secretary, Zoning and Planning Commission
