The regular monthly meeting of the Grow Township Zoning
and Planning Commission was held January 25, 1972 at Crooked Lake
School. In the absence of Chairman Norm Stout, James Nash called
the meeting to order at 7:50 PM with Commission members Christenson,
Holasek, Jones and Rither present.
Nash stated that a Public Hearing was called to consider
the application of Myron Roseland for a Special Use Permit to
construct a pole type storage shed at 16109 Valley Drive mv.
Roseland not present. A member of the Town Board of Supervisors
telephoned Roseland's home and was told that Roseland was out
plowing, the truck was stuck, and would make an attempt to get
Roseland to the meeting. No action taken.
A representative of South Realty did not appear and it
was moved by Jones and seconded by Christenson to table action
until such time as a representative of South Realty appears. Carried.
Norton Byrd preliminary plat was called. Byrd did not
appear. No action taken.
Dick Hand appeared regarding a proposal to plat and
rezone a parcel of land in Section 28. Subject area is located
in the R-1 Zoning District. Hand stated that he wanted to get
opinions regarding rezoning either to R-3 or R-4. Hand stated that
he would have a net of twenty-five acres and wanted to plat three
lots to the acre; surrounding properties such as Green Acres,
Northwoods and Red Oaks are R-4. Nash stated that the engineers
should have a look at the area and determine the projections for
sanitary sewers. It was noted that if rezoned to R-4 every third
lot could be built and if sewer was going to be delayed it would
mean that Hand would have to sit on the other. two lots for an
indeterminate period of time. Hand indicated that he would rather
develop all of the lots and not have to wait. Nash suggested that
Hand wait for a decision on the sewer to see what the timetable
is going to be and then decide which Zoning District would be most
suitable.
Nash called for Roseland who did not appear.

Commission discussed layout of plat, roads, easements and discussions
held at the October 26 and November 30, 1972 meetings. It was noted
that the Commission had recow~ended approval but that the Board of
Supervisors did not concur. Nash conferred with the Town Board of
Supervisors and reported that the proposed road easement and
cul-de-sac on lot six is unacceptable. Furthermore, that the Board
suggested that an easement be obtained along the southerly property
line of lot six and the lot marked exception for a service road with
a forty foot right of way with a twenty-six foot surface. Byrd
stated that he would contact the other property owner but could
give no assurance that the owner of the exception would go along.
It was moved by Jones and seconded by Nash to recommend to Norton
Byrd that an easement be obtained along the southerly property
line of lot six and the lot marked exception for a service road
with a forty foot right of way with a twenty-six foot surface.
Carried.
There being no further business it was moved by
Christenson and seconded by Nash to adjourn. Carried. Meeting
was adjourned at 9:00 PM.
