The regular monthlJ" meeting of the Grow Township Planning and Zoning
Commission was held on Tuesday, February 27, 197.3 at the Crooked lake School.
Chairman Art Jaworski called the meeting to order at 7:35 P.M. with commission
members Clendening, Dutton, Johnson, and Newell present. There was corrections
of the January 30, 1973 meeting. Corrections were made.
At 7~40 First item on the agenda: Prelim. sketch plan, Section 7 for Dick
Cherrier. He was not as yet in attendence and was passed over.

At 7:45 Second on the agenda: Prelim. sketch plan, minor sub division, 7th
Ave. 159th. was brought forth by l"arlo Strand. He presented a sketch of his
property and stated area was 1200 square feet, 158 1/.3 feet wide. Property
owners next to him was Hr. Robert Crose, and a narrow strip of 50' owned by
Dr. Yagard. Strand said he wanted to plot 2 lots of 1~ acres approximatley .
.300 X 158'. It was confirmed R-2 and 1 acre lots were required. Johnson asked
what kind of road it was. Strand said it was a mutual road between Crose and
him. Jaworski said that in other words that it was not accepted as a Township
road, and if road was excepted it would have to be 50'. Also the sketch plan
would have to be in accordance with Ordinance #10, and if he want to take it to
the middle of the road it doesn't meet criterea and he would have to applJ" for
variance. There is enough acreage to meet ordinance, but don't have correct
lot size. Dutton said property required to have access to Township road.
Chairman Jaworski proceded to read ordinance. Strand asked about an unimproved
road ,provided he took care of maintinance. Newell stated that he would have to
have a public not private road. Newell also stated he could plot one for two
acres. Jaworski stated he would have to applJ" for a varience. Prelim. sketch
plan accepted for two acre lot.
Prelim. sketch plan for Dick Cherrier recalled. He was not as yet in attendence.
8:10 Third item on agenda: Chuck Hartfiel, Prelim. sketch plan, near Quickstrom
addition. Accompaning him was Ray Alatorre. Button stated it was zoned R-4.
Johnson asked if property was plated. Hartfiel stated a strip of 10-12 acres
were not. Discussion followed on road. Art Jaworski stated it met lot require-
ments. Prelim. sketch plan was in agreement.
Dick Cherrier recalled. Not yet in attendence.

At 8: 50 Fourth on agenda: Gold Hedallion Corp., Prelim. sketch plan. Bob
Johnson property 7th Ave. Richard H. BW1e, Vice President, and Dave Fricke,
planner for \I[inslow R. Chamberlain Equity, Corp., a division of Gold l".edallion,
presented sketch. Dave Fricke stated they intended to build singel familJ"
homes 1 acre lots. It is zoned R-2 and p10ted 1 acre lots. There is 76 lots
plus 20 acres natural space which will remain as open space and park dedication.
He also stated he talked to the Shoreland. Street would have 60' right away,
other street 50' right away. Jaworski stated the R-2 are is never sub dividable
in Grow Township. Fricke stated that if sewer and water became available,
people could re applJ" for sub division. Art stated that at this time it remains
unsub-dividab1e. Discussion on footage of homes being 1200 sq. ft. followed.
Talk about dedication for park and if it would be private or public, and would
Township consider foot bridge. Jaworski said the corner of street would have to
be rOW1ded, and all streets to collect to one. Prelim. sketch was in agreement.
