OLD BUSINESS
Jim Griswold and Jerry Lapham will be purchasing the sand points and pump the
week of August 12 after further checking into prices on the pump.
Jim Griswold and Phil Rzeszutek had been at~~r]t;;k and had talked to some
of the neighbors. Lapham and Griswold will contact Cecil Heidelberger within the
next couple of weeks to get the removal project completed.
The secretary will contact John Keprios and notify him that the joint meeting
with the Town Board regarding the Community Center Plan will be held on August
22nd at 7:30 p.m.
Jerry Lapham stated that due to a lack of communication the project at Langseth's
pine Acres had been delayed. Jerry will coordinate with the neighbors the
installation of the equipment.
After much discussion regarding equipment for Shady Knoll, Britton moved that we
allocate $500 to Shady Knoll for equipment for their park. Motion was subsequently
amended to read that we allocate monies to purchase a 10-foot slide and a two-
section, 4-seat swing set for Shady Knoll for a total of $550 including freight;
motion seconded by Phil Rzeszutek; carried. Letter will be written to Town Board
requesting such expenditure. Jim Griswold will check with the attorney regarding
insurance for other equipment to be built by neighbors and installed at Shady Knoll.
Seed or sod will be required to prevent the slope on the east side of the park from
washing down with each rain. Bonnie Hoffman will be writing an article regarding
their park for the next Grow Township Newsletter.
Because there is no deed for Green Acres, phil Rzeszutek talked with Gilbert Menkveld
and asked that he make up a new deed. Mr. Menkveld had made up a deed in 1972 and
presented it to the township, so does not feel he should have to make up a new one.
Phil Rzeszutek will follow up with the attorney's office to see if there is anything
we can do to claim the park for the Township.
NEW BUSINESS
Phil Rzeszutek read quotes on hockey rink materials. The low bid so far was from
Spring Lake Park Lumber. Bids still have to be received on fencing. All bids
will be discussed at the special meeting with the Town Board on August 22nd.

After discussion upon a request by Britton, Phil Rzeszutek moved that we have
a work night at Cedar Crest Park on August 14; motion seconded by Britton;
carried. Lary Carlson has volunteered his heavy equipment for removing excess
trees and brush from the northeast corner of the park. Members are asked to
be available for that cleanup.
A letter will be presented to the Town Board on August 13 requesting
lights for Langseth's pine Acres, Shady Knoll and Cedar Crest parks.
Sylvia Britton will order the lights installed by Anoka Electric.

If approved,
Cecil remarked that because the Grow Landfill was not open on Saturday afternoons
people were dumping their refuse wherever they wanted to. He suggested that
the PRAB see that something is done to keep the Landfill open longer hours.
No specific action taken.
Sylvia Britton, after a suggestion from Bonnie Hoffman of Shady Knoll, called
the Minneapolis School Board and subsequently the City of Minneapolis purchasing
department to inquire about playground equipment at schools being sold or
torn down in the City of Minneapolis. She was informed that good~uipment is
given to other schools and the rest is put up for sale to the general public at
a publicly advertised sale. She will check further to see if municipalities are
given special favors in this regard; she was told that she would be notified in
advance of the next sale.

Motion made by Jerry Lapham, seconded by Cecil Heidelberger that the meeting
adjourn; motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 10:25 p.m.
