Attending in addition to the chairman were members Britton, Lapham, Heidelberger, Rzeszutek and Jack. Absent: Kappelhoff Guests: Bonnie Hoffman, Shady Knoll; Al Miles, Chairman, Zap Commission, James Stewart, Director, Community Services. Minutes of the May 9 meeting will be read at the July 11 meeting. Jim Stewart presented the Park School program which is to be presented to the School Board of District 11. The majority of the Advisory Board feels it is a good program, involving the school, the community and the city government. Chairman Griswold questioned the supervision of the program, which seems to be left almost entirely to the City. OLD BUSINESS There was no report from John Keprios on the park study for the Community Center area. It will again be discussed at the July meeting. Shady Knoll - Bids for the asphalt slab have not been received. We will again ask the Board of Supervisors to obtain bids for that park. Langseth Pine Acres - The playground equipment will be shipped approximately June 12. Jerry Lapham will notify the neighbors for installation of the equipment. Cedar Crest park has not yet been completed. We will discuss this project further at the July meeting. The work day on June 8 was attended by most members. We cleaned up Meadow Creek park, delivered picnic tables to several parks - 1 to Shady Knoll, 2 Cedar Crest, 1 - Green Acres; 2 were left at the Community Center. We trimmed some of the trees at Cedar Crest; talked with the neighbors at Shady Knoll and got their ideas on the placement of the asphalt slab, etc. Minut es June 13, 1974 Page 2 NEW BUSINESS The letters presented to the Town Board after the May meeting were discussed. All had been approved with the exception of the request for sand points _ The Board would like additional information on the equipment - and the bidding for the asphalt slab at Shady Knoll, which will be discussed at the next meeting. Chapman Park was discussed. Several of the neighbors have requested that the tires be removed from the park as they are becoming an eyesore and others are dumping car tires there. We discussed the removal; most felt they should be removed with only two or three being left for the children to play on. Cecil Heidelberger said he would talk with the neighbors regarding the matter. When they are removed Shady Knoll would like one or two to be placID in their park; Phil Rzeszutek asked that one be left at Green Acres park also. Further discussion at next meeting. Motor vehicles in the parks were discussed. Chairman Griswold feels we should try to adapt to the problem; we should check with other communities regarding their ordinances on same. No action taken at this time. Richard Schneider, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors announced that the Advisory Board members would now be eligible to receive $5.00 per meeting, not to exceed $10 per month. The Chairman and Secretary would receive $5.00 more per month, not to exceed $15.00 per month. Claims are to be made on a quarterly basis, beginning with June 1. Our first claims would be turned in at the October meeting for the months June through September. Mr. Schneider also asked that the secretary make all copies required of minutes and agendas at the Town Hall and that mailing be done from the Town Hall if possible. Motion was made by Jerry Lapham, seconded by Cecil Heidelberger that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
