Newsletter Assignments , / ~ ) \ , ) OTYolANDOVER ! ) \ , ) \ ) REGULAR PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING August 26. 1975 Minutes The Regular Meeting of the Andover Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order at 7:35 P.M. by Chairman. Dave Jack, on August 26, 1975, at the Andover Community Center, 1685 Crosstown Boulevard NW, Anoka. Minnesota 55303. Commissioners Present: Ken Heil, Dave Jack, Art Jaworski. Dean JOhnson, Arleane Nehring, and Ken Orttel Commissioner Absent: Mark Arnold Also Present: Rex Stockwell, of T.K.D.A., and Deloris Hanson Chairman Jack told the Commission that Mark Arnold had a serious accident and would be undergoing a number of operations so would be unable to attend meetings for a while. The Commission will see that he is kept up-to-date on Planning and Zoning business. Minutes Motion by Johnson. seconded by Jaworski, to approve the Minutes of August 12 as written. Motion carried unanimously. \ ) Motion by Jaworski, seconded by Johnson, to bring back from table the Minutes of July 28. Vote: yes - Nehring, Orttel, Jaworski, Johnson, Jack; present - Heil. Motion carried. Motion by Orttel. seconded by Johnson. to accept the July 28th Minutes with the addendum. Vote: yes - Jack, Johnson. Jaworski. Orttel, Nehring; present - Heil. Motion carried. Cedar Crest 4th Addition (Comm. #8-75-2) Mayban has requested that they bypass the Planning and Zoning Commission and are on the Agenda of the next City Council Meeting which is September 2nd. They are going back to the original 4th Addition Plat and will be asking the Council for an extension. The Commission advised the Clerk to relay all of the Cedar Crest information to the City Council members. Motion by Heil, seconded by Jaworski, to table the Cedar Crest 4th Addition at this time. Motion carried unanimously. Weed Ordinance (Comm. 17-75-4) \ I , / The sample Weed Ordinance the Commission has received is very unsatisfactory for Andover. Chairman Jack will call the Department of Natural Resources and the State to get additional weed ordinance information. Arleane Nehring will contact the Agriculture Extension Service and the Clerk was instructed to call Coon Rapids and Brooklyn Park for copies of their Weed Ordinances. The Weed Ordinance will be on the Agenda of September 9. '. r .) .' " ,., , Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting Minutes - August 26. 1975 Page 2 Ordinance lOB (Comm. #4-75-3) Rex Stockwell, of T.K.D.A., gave the Commissioners the latest revision of Ordinance lOB. General discussion followed with the subsequent corrections to be made: Page l2A - insert "which are 20 acres or larger." Page 15 - add "2~ acres or !:lore" instead of greater than 2~ acres. The Commission would like to commend T.K.D.A., namely Roger Anderson and Rex Stockwell, for the good job and valuable technical assistance given in creating this Revision of Ordinance 10 and lOA. Motion by Orttel, seconded by Nehring. that we send this revised version of 10 & lOA to the City Council for their consideration. Motion by Orttel, seconded by Jaworski, that the Andover Planning and Zoning Commission recommend the Andover City Council adopt Ordinance lOB as edited August 26th. Motion carried unanimously. Newsletter Assignments (Comm. #6-75-1) Commissioner Orttel, editor of the Newsletter, reported that publication will be September 15th and gave the following assignments: Arlene Nehring - Bicentennial Article; Wally Arntzen - Onsite sewage systems; Art Jaworski - Oak \oiilt; Lyle Bradley - Round Lake Project; Deloris Hanson - new employees and new positions created. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Johnson, seconded by Heil, to adjourn. Motion carried nearly unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 9:20. ~
