HomeMy WebLinkAboutAugust 28, 1975 , '\ \ ) " '\ - _J CITY 01 ANDOVER ,) MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD HELD AUGUST 28, 1975 AT THE ANDOVER COMMUNITY CENTER The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Acting Chairman, Jerry Lapham. Attending, in addition to Mr. Lapham, were Cecil Heidelberger and Phil Rzeszutek. ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION Motion by Phil Rzeszutek, seconded by Cecil Heidelberger, that a Resolution creating an Athletic Association (Copy attached) be submitted to the Andover City Council for approval. Motion carried. HOCKEY LIGHTING \ ) Motion by Phil Rzeszutek, seconded by Cecil Heidelberger, that the bid for Hockey Lighting be awarded to Gopher Electric, Coon Rapids, in the amount of $3,500.00 for maxtmum and that the job be done on time and material basis not to exceed the $3,500.00 bid. Inasmuch as $3,000.00 was allocated for this project, it is requested that funds totaling $500.00 be transferred from the "Salaries and Hileage" fund to cover the balance. Hotion carried. J \ . r \ - -) . \ "~ CITY OF ANDOVER COUNl'Y OF ANOKA STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION CREATING AN ANDOVER ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, the City of Andover will have recreation facilities to serve the community and, in an effort to enhance the grm~th of full scnle athletic progra~s within the community and to encourage increased resident participation in such programs, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that an Andover Athletic Association be created and recognized by the City of Andover. \ ~ That said Andover Athletic Association be conducted on a voluntary basis supported in part by the City of Andover. Such City participation to consist of providing: facilities and maintenance of facilities, monetary assistance with official's salaries and equipment. That said Association be primarily financed by registration fees, business membership, and Association-sponsored fund raising projects. Further, said Association be accountable for annual expenditures of City funding for each program with budgets submitted and approved prior to January I of each year. That the Park and Recreation Board of the City of Andover act as 1iason between the City of Andover Council and the Athletic Association. That the Park and Recreation Board of the City of Andover coordinate all City participation of the Association's various programs. That each sport or program established by the Association submit a budget outlining requested City participation or funding.
