Meeting adjourned at 10:45 p.m. '. ) / l.JINUTES OF THE PARKS/RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD REGULAR 110NTR"LY llEETIKG HELD OCTOBER 6, 1975 AT THE ANDOVER COHI-IUIHTY CaITER The meeting was called to order at 7:45 by Acting Chairman, Jerry Lapham. Attending, in addition to Itr. Lapham, were Philip Rzeszutek, Cecil Heidelberger and Sylvia Britton. Guest Attending was TIes l,:and. The minutes of the September 15 meeting were approved. OLD BUSINESS Hockey Rink - Philip Rzeszutek reported nothing could be done with the lights for the hockey rink until the oil is in. The light fix- tures have been ordered. No gradinG can be done until the trenchinG is complete. Hockey siGn up will be October 23rd. There will be two filr;ls of the Hinnesota Fighting Saints and possibly a L18lnber of the team will be present. A representative from Pro Sports Incorpo- rated will be on hand and hockey equipment will be available. Roger Anderson and Earl Gosnicl~ \'Jill be in charge of the hockey program. The question of advertising \':as brought by Phil Rzeszutek and i t ~7aS decided that Crooked Lake School would receive flyers and Wilson, ':hcshington, HcKinley, Fred lioore, Roosevelt and Blaine Senior 1IiCh will have a notice posted on bulletin boards. It is hoped that three divisions of hockey will be offered. Phil Rzeszutek will take care of tho flyers. Shirley Hatfield nill be notified for coverage in the Anoka County Union. The board expects to engage Hockey Direc- tors through the newsletter and the sign up. A recreo.tioncel rink vras planned and will bG placed next to the hockey rink and one light will be moved to facilitate that rink. Sand Points - Lauren Turnquist will be asked to cut and thread the pipes for the parI\.:. Jin Stewa,rt-CoTrltJunity Services - Jim Stewart was not present. Northwoods - Philip Rzsezutek reported that he had staked out the field and Br,yan Itock Products \Jill supply the crushed limestone. Burt Kraabel \7ill grade the field first. It was also reported that the quack grass crop on the field would temporarily serve the purpose and seeding was not necessary. Red Oaks - JOG Royer came in and reported on the infonlation he had from L 2, R EY.:cav3.ting. They estinated it nould cost \;1,100 for drudg- ing and spreading the dirt for a 25 foot square pond on a 1 to 6 foot slope. Honever, the proposed shape of the pond nay have to be chanGed.
