MINNESOTA 55303 (612) 755-5100 PARK/RECREATION CO~SSIONMEETING - OCT. 6, 1977 MINUTES The meeting was not called to order as there was no quorum. Members present: Members absent: ~Aand and Rogers Rzeszutek, Lapham, Ancheta, Pahl and Strandmark Also present: Tim Erkkila, Midwest Planning Jim Hane, Cunningham Pre. Plat Mildred Orttel, Oak Hollow Pre. Plat Mr. and 1tts. Peter LeBrun - Dehn's Add. CPDP ~Erkkila handed those present a preliminary outline on the park system analysis and spoke at length regarding its contents. He asked the secretary to mail this preliminary analysis to those not present asking that they study it thoroughly. A special meeting was tentatively set for October 20, 1977, 6:30 p.m. He also brought out new base maps for Green Acres, Lund's Round Lake Estates and Grow Oak View. If any new park land is dedicated after this date, and the Park/Recreation Commission wants these in the comprehensive plan, he asks that he be reimbursed in accordance with the contract. He gave the members an up-date on the tennis court construction. Since the electrical portion of the 1977 bid was rejected by the City Council, he is contacting other electric installers for new bids. To get full lights for multiple purpose use such as another set of tennis courts, the cost now would be an extra $700.00, approximately. In 3-4 years, this cost could well be $2,000.00 It was the feeling of the members that it was better to spend $700.00 now than $2,000.00 later. Due to the lateness of the season, the completion date for the tennis courts has been extended to May 15, 1978. Mr. and Mrs. LeBrun left. CUNNINGHAM PRE.PLAT Due to land. this. the size of this plat, Mr. Hane suggested that we accept money in lieu of park The members agreed and asked the secretary to send a memo to P & Z recommending OAK HOLLOW PRE. PLAT Mrs. Orttel explained additional park land was not shown on the revised plat as the area to the west is low and wet, and wondered if the Commission would like money in lieu of the land for this .62 acres. Wes Mand and Glen Rogers felt the Commission would prefer the land as it is a small portion of the proposed park and could at a later date be filled in if the need arises. The secretary was asked to send P & Z a memo stating this. ~ ~J , ~ '-../ ~J \ ._-) " ') u C) Page #2 Minutes - October 6, 1977 MRPA CONFERENCE The request of Bob Muscovitz to attend this conference Nov. 8, 9 and 10 was approved.
