TENNIS COURT GRANT
After some discussion it was decided to try for a State grant for a double tennis
court. This grant would pay 50% of the cost - one stipulation being we have to
guarantee construction for the 1977 season.
MOTION by Lapham, seconded by Ancheta, that based on the figures we have received
that a request be put into the City Council to allow us to apply for a grant to
subsidize half of a double tennis court for the City Hall park area, exact location
,"\ to be arrived at by Council and Planner.

SURVEY FORM.
The survey form from Midwest Planning was shortened and the secretary was asked to
retype it and get copies made. Arrangements are to be made to insert it in the
Newsletter. In order to reduce costs and get a high return, it was suggested to
ask the Lions and Jaycees if they would consider going door to door to pick up
completed survey forms. Wes ~d stated there was a Jaycee meeting next Tuesday
night and he would bring it up then.
MOTION by Lapham, seconded by Strandmark, to adjourn. Meeting adjourned 8:15 p.m.

I have contacted Rex Stockwell relative to the sealcoating of some of the
2-3 year old bituminous streets in the City, i. e., Jay Street, Meadowood Streets,
Kiowa Terrace Streets. Money was allocated for this purpose last year, however,
it was delayed because of questions of funding. A $10,000 allocation is shown
for this year- Rex feels we may go over this somewhat by including Kiowa Terrace,
however, by doing all three at the same time, the overall price should be better.
/ '\ I have it on the agenda for July 19 for the Council to order the preparation of
"--./ final plans. The work should be completed by late August. Next year it will
be necessary to do Green Acres/Eastbrook Terrace; and Northwoods and Red Oaks
in 1979.
An amount of $5, 500 was allowed by the Council in the 1977 Budget for security
and restoration (Purchase of bell and desks) for the Andover Schoolhouse. I
would as sume it would be the responsibility of the "Historical Committee" or
the "Park Commission" to research the purchase of the bell and desks; however,
the fencing would be classified as "maintenance" and the responsibility of your
department to obtain some cost proposals.
