REGULAR PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
June 19, 1986
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Andover Park and Recreation Commission
was called to order by Gretchen Sabel at 7:50 p.m. at Andover City Hall,
1685 Crosstown Boulevard N.W., Andover, Minnesota.
MEMBERS PRESENT:

Sabel, Strootman, McMullen, Kinkade
Frank Stone, Pam Carlson
The park board met at 7:00 p.m. at Forest Meadows to assess park needs
prior to the regularly scheduled meeting.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
MOTION by Strootman, seconded by McMullen to approve the minutes. Motion
carried unanimously.

REPORT FROM PUBLIC WORKS--FRANK STONE
Frank Stone brought to the attention of the park board that the ballfield
tournament fee was discussed at the June 10th city council meeting. After
reading the minutes, there was still question as to who would be considered
a community service organization.
Sprinkling System--Frank Stone met with a Toro representative who felt
that once the initial set up work is completed that they should be able
to do one field per weekend. Frank will hire an electrian to wire the
system.
Hidden Creek has been seeded and park signs are up.
Snow Fence has been installed on soccer field and chain link fence will be
installed next week on remaining two ballfields. Also, at that time,
fencing will be installed behid the public works building for storage.
Public Works was given the OK to buy a tractor and water truck.

River Forest was staked. Frank will get an estimate on cost of grading
before the July 10th meeting.

WOODLAND MEADOWS--Preliminary Plat
MOTION by McMullen, seconded by Sabel to accept Woodland Meadows Preliminary
Plat of 1.12 acres (Lot 18, Block 6) and balance of acreage (22.2 acres) in
cash to be determined at the time of final plat. This money will be earmarked
for Woodland Meadow and Hawkridge development.
FOREST MEADOWS
MOTION by McMullen. seconded by Strootman to contact Mr. Magnuson who has
been farming sod in this park, to discuss the situation. Motion carried~
MOTION by McMullen. seconded by Kinkade to name the new park at Woodland
Meadows, Pine Meadows. Motion carried unanimously.
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
