REGULAR PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
December 18, 1986
The regularly scheduled Andover Park and Recreation Commission Meeting
was called to order by Chairman Kinkade at 7:30 p.m., Thursday,
December 18, 1986 at the Andover City Hall, 1685 Crosstown Boulevard N.W.
Andover, Minnesota.
Commissioners Present: Kinkade, Sabel, McMullen, Kieffer, Strootman
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion by McMullen, seconded by Sabel to approve the minutes of the
December 4, 1986 meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
REPORT FROM PARK CHAIRMAN
Discussion: There has been an interest in an indoor hockey rink in
Andover. Also Chairman Kinkade has talked with a resident of the Fox
Meadows area who is interested in getting a hockey rink in there. He
would be willing to help and has a cement business.

MOTION by Sabel, seconded by Kieffer to approve Tree cutting permit with
the condition marked on the permit that only those trees marked by Frank
Stone from Public Works be allowed to be removed. Motion carried unanimously.
Gretchen Sabel received information from DNR. Application should be made now
for fishing pier license for 1988. This will be on the agenda for the next
park meeting. They also discussed the canoe launch to the Rum River at River
Forest. This will be included at the January 8, 1987 meeting.
Todd Haas prepared maps of Kelsey Round Lake park showing boundaries of park
land acquired and land yet to be acquired. He will be staking the park for
the board. Also discussed was the farming being done on this property. The
park commission hopes to identify the farmer by Spring to notify him that he
cannot farm the land.
MOTION by Strootman, seconded by Kinkade to adjourn at 8:25 p.m. Motion
carried unanimously.
