The regularly scheduled meeting of the Andover Par~<. and Recreation C.ommission
was called to order at 7:34 p,m. by Chairman Jeff Kieffer on Thursday, May 03,
1990 at the Andover City Hall Offioes, 1685 Crosstown Blvd., Andover, Mtt

RESIDENTS FORUM
Keith Johnson, 1704 Palm St. ~iV/, Lot #1, Andover, addressed the
commissioners about the development of a walkway to provide
aooess to Prairie Knolls Park. He promoted the use of blacktop or
gravel for the walkv,"ay betv{een Lots 1 & 2 to the north. He
estimatecl that 62 kids (ages 4-13) live in the area, tllUS creating a
need for the 'Nalkway.
Chairman Jeff Kjeffer stated there was notfling in the budget ttlis
year to oover tile cost of a walkv{ay. Bids for gravel or blaoktop
would be needed. TIlis request would be added to the "open list" for
Mure developments.
Frank Stone said he may level tint area yet this year. Tile
commissioners advised that Mr. Johnson inform his neighbors that
the area (between Lots 1 & 2) is city property, and that its potential
use is a walkway.

MOTION by Lindahl, seconded by DeLarco to accept the Pari, and
R.ecreation minutes of .ApriI19, 1990 as recorded. I",lotion carried unanirnously.

Dedication (pa.ge 4): $200 was originally cllarged per lot split. Became tile ci~{

STAFF CONCERNS
Franl<. Stone sU9gested sche(juling the ball fields to a maximum amount of
people. Police reportecf too many people for safety and a drink.ing problem (juring
the Blue Line tournament. The damage v.tas minimal. with 3 t,ases damaged.: fine
of $50.
Chairman k~ieffer asked ttlat tile police department tle infonl1ed about future
tournaments and said that (jrinking is designated to the pionic area..

The Anoka Football Boosters volunteer Clean-up day is Saturday. May 19th, Mr.
Danner '.Nill be contacting Todd Haas concerning park and project. The
comrnisioner:; suggeste(j tIlat Creel<. Ridge F'arl<. l)e targeted for brush clean-up,
C:ommissioners ,Anderson. Woods and Lindahl will possibly supen~se the 9rouP.
