MINUTES
The Regular Bi-Monthly Meeting of the Andover Park and Recreation
Commission was called to order by Acting Chairperson Darrell DeLarco on
February 18, 1993, 7:34 p.m., at the Andover City Hall, 1685 Crosstown
Boulevard NW, Andover, Minnesota.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
February 4, 1993: Correct as written.
MOTION by Anderson, Seconded by Paulson, approval of the Minutes as
written. Motion carried on a 5-Yes, 2-Absent (Kieffer, Auger) vote.
(J ANDOVER COMMUNITY EDUCATION REPORT

Nancy Knop updated the Commission on the classes, activities, and use of
the facilities in 1992 and thanked the Commission for its support of the
Community Education program. Tim Dahlheimer, Assistant Coordinator at
Crooked Lake reviewed the preschool program, the integration of special
needs students and the summer program. Mary Judd, Assistant Coordinator
at Andover also related some personal experiences indicating the
positive effects the community school program is having on the students.
Acting Chairperson DeLarco felt the Home Along classes benefit the
entire community and suggested special promotion be given to them. The
Commission thanked Ms. Knop and the others for their efforts in the
program.
ANDOVER ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION DISCUSSION
There was no report.
ADOPT-A-PARK
The Commission reviewed the draft of the Adopt-A-Park Program and
recommended the following changes:
Paragraph 1, fourth line, delete the word "rudimentary".

Replace the "Check one" section on the top of the Agreement with:
Spring Cleanup: April 1 through May 15
Fall Cleanup: September 1 through October 15
First paragraph of Agreement, fifth line,
read: ...the group acknowledges the
nature. . .
add "potentially", to
potentially hazardous
Mr. Starr stated the groups or organizations will be asked to contact
him prior to the cleanup. He will provide garbage bags and be
responsible for collecting the bags.
The Commission asked Staff to have the document retyped for final action
on March 4, after which it will be forwarded to the City Council.
MOTION by Anderson, Seconded by Lindahl, to adjourn. Motion carried on
as-Yes, 2-Absent (Kieffer, Auger) vote.
Acting Chairperson DeLarco declared the meeting adjourned at 8:23 p.m.
