Updates o Andover YMCA/Community Center Advisory Committee Minutes February 6, 2006 Page 2 Student Open Gym Activity - Traci Warnberg-Lemm and Heidi Geiss presented information on the after school program that takes place in the concession lobby area on Mondays & Wednesdays from 3 -5 pm. Good relationships are being established and the number of kids participating in the 3-5 free student open gym has increased dramatically. Youth First is also currently working on resources to fund another court for middle school students during the 06-07 school year. The ACC has received a few phone calls and emails from parents of students expressing concern over the number of students and other activities that have happened during this open gym. Erick requested that Traci present information as to the cost that would be involved in having Youth First in the building Monday - Thursday to help structure activities. Erick will also proceed with hiring a ACC Staff person for supervision in the gym. In the mean time, ACC staff will visit the Field House more frequently and ensure only middle school and HS students from the Andover area are present during this free open gym. Mr. Durand left at 9 pm. A request was made by Mr. Kellogg to look at concession sales during the student open gym. Erick distributed a handout indicating these totals. o Community Room Meeting Users - A March meeting room calendar along with names of groups that have and are scheduled to use the room was mailed with packet materials.
