Dear Residents, A Feasibility report has been prepared to determine the estimated cost to pave the streets in Langseth's pine Acres Area. Discussion: We are proposing to contruct with 2" bituminous paving 24 feet wide over 4" of gravel base course (class V). The street will be about 6" higher than the existing street. The shoulder will be from 2' to 4' wide constructed of either gravel (class V) or topsoil with seeding. We prefer the topsoil and seeded shoulders so the homeowners may mow the ditch and shoulder, making their lot look well kept. Estimated Cost: The estimated cost is $2,140.00 per lot (if you own 2 lots you pay 2 times $2,140.00, etc...).. This cost can be assessed over a 10 year period at about 9% interest or the assessment can be paid in full within 30 days with no interest. Assessment Period/Cost: The annual assessment payment over 10 years at 9% is $332.00/lot/year. MOTION by Councilman to adopt the following: A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE IMPROVEMENT OF STREET CONSTRUCTION, PROJECT NO. 87-26 IN THE LANGSETH'S AREA AND DIRECTING PREPARATION OF FINAL PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. WHEREAS, a resolution of the City Council adopted on the 2nd day of February 1988, fixed a date for a public hearing on the improvement of Street Construction project No. 87-26~ and WHEREAS, pursuant to the required published and mailed notice, such hearing was held on the 18th day of February 1988~ and WHEREAS, all persons desiring to be heard were given such opportunity for same~ and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Andover to hereby order the improvement of Street Construction project No. 87-26 in the following described area Langseth's BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Andover to hereby designate as the Engineer for this improvement and they are directed to prepare plans and specifications for such improvements. MOTION seconded by Councilman the City Council at a and adopted by day of Meeting this , 19 , with Councilmen voting in favor of the resolution, and Councilmen voting against, whereupon said resolution was declared passed. One of the streets that is being proposed for improvement on the Municipal State Aid street System is Ward Lake Drive from Hanson Boulevard to 175th Avenue (grid). The City Council has set a Public Hearing to discuss Ward Lake Drive and also the improvements to Bluebird Street and Yellow pine Street. At the Public Hearing we will ask each property owner to sign a petition indicating if you are for or against the proposed project. One of the streets that is being proposed for improvement on the Municipal State Aid Street System is Ward Lake Drive from Hanson Boulevard to 175th Avenue (grid). The City Council has set a Public Hearing to discuss Ward Lake Drive and also the improvements to Bluebird Street and Yellow Pine Street. At the Public Hearing we will ask each property owner to sign a petition indicating if you are for or against the proposed project. The cost can be assessed over a ten (10) year period of time at about 9% interest. The estimated costs are as follows: Ward Lake Drive (MSA Street) - If the right-of-way is dedicated by the property owners along ward Lake Drive a Municipal Aid Street there will not be assessments on Ward Lake Drive.
