Special City Council Meeting - November 5, 1992
A Special Meeting of the Andover City Council was called to order
by Mayor Ken Ortte1 at 7:30 P.M., Thursday, November 5, 1992 at
the Andover City Hall, 1685 Crosstown Boulevard N.W., Andover,
MN.
Councilmembers Present: Jacobson, perry, Smith, McKelvey, Perry
Councilmembers Absent: None
Also Present: James E. Schrantz, City Administrator;
Daryl Sulander, Finance Director
CANVASS ELECTION RESULTS
The Clerk explained that one of the biggest problems with the
election was the number of people registering on election day.
One of the precincts had 569 people who registered to vote.
Mayor Ortte1 asked about the possibility of holding a municipal
primary.
MOTION by Jacobson, seconded by Jacobson to adopt a resolution
canvassing the returns of the municipal election held on the 3rd
day of November 1992 in the City of Andover. (See Resolution
213-92) . Motion carried unanimously.
PLUMBING - SENIOR CITIZEN CENTER
Mayor Orttel explained that the plumbing in the senior citizen
center is for a residential use and we need to upgrade it for
commercial use. The Council previously approved $2,000 for this
work to be done and because of problems encountered with the
existing plumbing, Council is being asked to change the amount to
$3,000.
MOTION by Jacobson, seconded by Perry that the City Council
authorize up to $3,000 for plumbing work in the Senior Citizen
Center. This motion will supercede the original motion of
October 20, 1992. Motion carried unanimously.
MOTION by Perry, seconded by Jacobson to adjourn. Motion
carried.
Meeting adjourned at 7:41 P.M.
