SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING - AUGUST 13, 1986 MINUTES A special meeting of the Andover City Council was called to order by Mayor Windschit1 at 7:00 pm., August 13, 1986 at the Andover City Hall, 1685 Crosstown Boulevard NW, Andover, Minnesota, Councilmen present: Jerry Windschit1, Ken Ortte1, Jim Elling, Ted Lachinski Councilmen Absent: Mike Knight ELECTION JUDGES Motion by Ortte1, Seconded by Elling, approving the resolution appointing the Election Judges for the Primary Election at an hourly rate of $5,50/hr. for Chief Judges, $5,25/hr. for Assistant Chief Judges, and $5,OO/hr, for Judges, Motion Carried Unanimously, TEMPEL LOT SPLIT The Council believed the best use for the land was 2 lots and believed the land should be assessed for 2 units of Sanitary Sewer and Street costs, Motion by Ortte1, Seconded by Lachinski, to approve the resolution recinding the lot split for Norbert Tempel subject to the proper assessments being payed for an equivalent of 2 lots, Carried Unanimously, APPOINT DEPUTY CLERK The Council requested this item be placed on the August 19th City Council Meeting, TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE Motion by Elling, Seconded by Lachinski, to authorize the hiring of Marcie Peach for 5 to 6 hour days for an hourly rate of $7,50, Motion Carried Unanimously, STREET LIGHT I An informal meeting was held with the residents of 170~ Lane and 169th' Avenue East of Round Lake Boulevard to discuss street lights, The neighborhood concensus was that they didn't want street lights. Motion by Lachinski, Seconded by Ortte1, to order a street·1ight installed at 170~ Lane and Round Lake Boulevard prefer the Northwest corner, Carried Unanimously. FIRE TRUCK REPAIR Tom May discussed the list of repair 4887, Motion by Lachinski, Seconded by Orttel, to authorize up to $1200 for the work needed to correct the Manufacturers deficiencies, Carried Unanimously, Special City Council ~Ieeting August 13, 1986 - Minutes Page 2 (Fire Truck Repair, Continued) Tom May called the fire company and returned with a list of what needs to be done and a letter explaining the cost, Motion by Ortte1, Seconded by Lachinski, to authorize an additional $800,00 for the repair of 4887, Also check the bankruptcy proceeding or the previous company that manufactured the truck, Can we collect the $500,00 due to Andover. Carried Unanimously. Council requested staff to check with Northwestern Bell to see if a pay phone could be installed at City Hall and at the Fire Station, REZONING The City Council requested that the city initiate the rezoning in Watts Garden Acres that was petitioned, Motion by Ortte1, Seconded by Lachinski, to adjourn, Carried Unanimously.
