SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING - JUNE 25, 1984 I
AGENDA
A Special Meeting of the Andover City Council was called to order
on Monday, June 25, 1984, at 6:55 P.M. by Mayor Windschitl:for
the purpose of discussing well tests performed by the MPCA on
residential wells abutting the WDE landfill.
Councilmen Present: Elling, Knight (arrived 7:10), Orttel.
Councilmen Absent: Lachinski
Mayor Windschitl informed the Council that he and Councilman Elling
had met with the generators earlier in the day to discuss the well
tests. They were informed by the generators, and the County, that
they had the same reports as those received by the City of Andover.
Councilman Elling explained that he had thoroughly reviewed the
tests since last fall; and was having a problem with the changes
in those on Wallts and the Mattox test reports. between last fall
and the latest tests taken this spring. Councilman Orttel indicated
that he did not feel qualified to dispute the reports received from
the Agencies with expertise in the field.
Councilman Elling presented a resolution he had prepared requesting
that specific wells be tested. Councilman Orttel voiced concern
that the language of the resolution could indicate the City was
requesting that only these wells be tested--which is not the case.
It was agreed to amend the proposed resolution to show that other
wells should be tested; but to include the wells at 13949,
13959, 13945 and 14043 Nightengale Street.
MOTION by Elling, seconded by Orttel to approve a Resolution
Approving a Position Statement by the City of Andover Regarding
the Waste Disposal Engineering Landfill and Residential Water
Testing (See Resolution No. 057-84) . Motion carried unanimously.
MOTION by Knight, seconded by Orttel to adjourn.
