S,hneider, May 5, 1975, 7:30 P.M., at the Andover Community Center, 1685 Cfosstown Blvd. N. W., Anoka, Minnesota, for the purpose of interviewing ap~licants for the part time clerical position. Councilpersons present: Holasek, Rither, VanderLaan, Windschitl Councilpersons absent: None Also present : City Clerk, Art Jaworski; City Deputy Clerk, Pat Lindquist. The City Council decided that before the interviews, the Deputy Clerk should acquaint each atPlicant with a brief outline of the workload. Marcella A. Pe ch The Council as~ed questions regarding the applicant's work background, availability on flexible sche ule, hours preferred, qualifications, etc. Mrs. Peach sta ed that she would want part time work only, not to exceed twenty hours per week, and would not want to work more than three evenings per month. She would be av ilable June 1. Qualifications were very good, both in typing and shorthand. Te ches Business Education. Sharon J. Ande son The Council as Anderson the same questions as directed to the for~i',Oing applicant. Mrs. Anderson stated that she could work full or part time, but preferred full time. Miscellaneous iscussion The Council co pleted the first two interviews ahead of schedule, so agreed to discuss other b siness until the other applicant arrived. Mayor Schneide noted that Jim Brenk, Personnel Officer, Anoka County, would like to have ava lable to him, the miles of City roads that needed work to be done by County road rews. After general discussion, the Council decided to discuss the road situati n on May 12. Mayor Schneider stated that he would meet with Road Superviso , Wally Arntzen, to help define the roads requiring maintenance. Hanson Mrs. Hanson wJs asked the same questions as the previous applicants. Mrs. Hanson advised the Coubcil that she would work either full or part time, flexible hours did 1 Qualifications indicated a typing speed of 60 w. p. m. , not present a pr blem. shorthand of 12 w. p. m., however, has not used shorthand for some time. At the conclusio of each interview, Councilperson:,VanderLaan gave each applicant a paragraph con aining several spelling and punctuation errors, and asked that it be corrected. General Discussion The Council ent red into approximately two hours of discussion on the applicants and the City's needs The following conclusions were reached or proposed: 1. Conclud d - All applicants were lacking in one area or another. 2. Propos d - A possible full-time position could be utilized 3. Proposed - The City should re-advertise for a full time position and list the position with the State Unemployment Office. 4. propose1d - A position responsibility profile should be ordered. 5. Put off discussion until after Personnel Meeting on May 12.' Proposed - 6. Conclud d _ Full time could mean over 32 hours per week 7. Conclud d - The Clerk/Treasurer position should be defined first. MOTION by Van derLaan, seconded by Rither, to table discussion on part time help until Monda , May 12. Vote: VanderLaan, Schneider, Rither, Windschitl - Yes;. Holasek - No. otion carried. Vote: Windschitl, Schneider, VanderLaan, Holasek- Yes; Rither - N . Motion carried. Adjournment MOTION by Va derLaan, seconded by Windschitl, that meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
