Minutes of PRIORITY MEETING of the Grow Township Board of Supervisors held
June 10, 19 4 at the Grow Community Center.
The reason or this meeting was to interview Schoell and Madson Inc., Engineers
ånd other i ems. '.
Present wer Chairman Schneider, Supervisors Holasek and Christenson and William
D. Schoell Jim Orr, representing Schoell and Madson Inc.
Chairman Sc called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. and told Messrs.
Schoell and sell the Township on their Company.
They didth s until approximately 9:20 p.m. These items are on tape and in the
instance th se Engineers are hired, they can be transcribed at the directions
of the Boar of Supervisors.
At 9:20 p.m., Ed Fields, Anoka County Commissioner app~a.ed. Allan Miles, Chairman
~ of Planning and Zoning was also present. ,The discussion centered on the Variance
request of 1 Parent and Variances in general. This continued for approximately
~ fifteen (15) minutes. The discussion changed to the Hearing of the Incorporation
for Grow an Ramsey Townships.
Next was the ditch running to Crooked Lake. Mr. Fields noted this
/""'-., will County Board Meeting on June 11, 1974.

Chairman Sc eider noted other items: Assessor needs sign for his car, at Schwartz
suggestion. He also would like a key to the building and a file cabinet, that only
he can open.
Chairman Sc noted the Revenue Sharing form must be filled out immediately.
The plan to use $8,000 for Public, Safety and $8,489 for Parks.
The policy the gate being locked at all times was discussed. The Board dec,ided
that the gate should only be locked when Public Meetings are held or outside groups
are using t e building.
The Assesso shall have a key to the front door and a key to the front General
Office. Su rvisor Holasak and Chariman Schneider agreed. Supervisor Christenson
has reservations about allowing keys being spread too far. Supervisor Holasek
felt no mor keys should be let out until the lack is changed to the Clerk's Office.
The Board c curred. Clerk Jaworski 'will contaet--,Bullding Inspector Arntzen on
June 11, 197 to expedite the matter.
Discussion o~ whether or not to change Engineers was started by Chairman Schneider.
Supervisor C ristenson felt we should choose one from the group. Chairman Schneider
had mixed e tions, but would go along with Supervisors Christenson and Holasek.
Supervisor lasek fêit Dick Sha was a fantastic person, but their Firm Consulting

and Tolz, K ng, Duvall and Anderson. Clerk Jaworksi will contact Attorney Hawkins
to write Ie ter of termination to Consulting Engineers Diversified, by unanimous
decision by the Board. ,.
The meeting Thursday, June 13, 1974 will include:
1 Joint meeting of the Board, Crime Prevention Commitèee and the
Sheriff's Department
2 Decision on Engineers
3 Reviewal of past minutes
Supervisor olasek has drawn up resolution to cover property distribution from
Township, t curtail problems such as, Cedar Crest Park Site, "unauthorized dirt
~~J;noval." upervisor Ho1asek will finish this for Board Meeting, June 11, if
possible. upervisor Christenson fiit the Board should ask the Attorney about
this.
The Board n tes they will meet with Planning and Zoning Commission on the
Comprehensi e Plan, the 18th of June, at 8:00 p.m.
Discussion y the ~ard on the agenda. The Board reiterates NO items shall be
handled tha are not posted in the paper.

At 9:20 p.mj, Ed Fields Anoka County Commissioner appeared. Alan Miles Chairman
of Planning and Zoning was also present. The discussion centered aD the variance
request of 1 Parent and variances in general.
Mr. Fields as appearing in behalf of Al Parent, a neighbor of Mr. Fields on Round
Lake Blvd., Mr. Fields noted that there are times when variances that will not
bother anyo e elèe, even if they do not conform to all criteria, can be allowed.
Mr. Fields lso felt that Local Government Officials must meet the needs of the
~ people and e was here to look after one of his constituent's, Al Parent. Mr. Fields
'~ noted he wo Id like the Board to take a long look at Mr. Parent's request. He
noted he di not make a habit of appeaBing before Town Board's or City Commissions,
on someones behalf and stated to the Board he was quite concerned over this csse.
The discuss on changed to the Hearing of the Incorporation for Grow and Ramsey
Townships.
