The Regular meeting of the Grow Township Board of Supervisors
met at the Crooked Lake School on Tuesday, October 12 1971.
Chairman Louis Appleby called the meeting to order at 8:05P.M.
with Supervisors Bradley and Schneider, and Planning and Aoning
members stout, Holasek, and Building Inspector Langseth.
Members Christenson and Nash arrived later.
Minutes of the September 14, 1971 meeting were read and approved, ,
and have the wording checked, that all snowplowing bids, and or
quotes are competitive.
A financial report of bills paid and monies recieved for August
was read. It was questioned whether to continue to read the bills?
Hr. Heidlberger said we should.
On the Crooked Lake well. The total cost is $13,700. The purpose
of the well is to keep the level of the lake up, and possibly
handle some nearby homes. Our portion is ~850. Tom Funk asked
what would happen is someone ufused to go along. Chairman Appleby
assumed they would stop. Hr. Funk asked if this is a test well,
and have more wells to come? Chairman Appleby will check and see.
No action taken.
Supervisor Bradley gave a brief report on the Community Schools.
He stated that there was a list of questions available that they were
using as guidelines.
Engineer Dave Hansing has been working with P & Z Commission on a
Platting Ordinance. This ordinance is needed for incorporation.
There is now a special phone number for the clerk. The number
is 427-1588.
Chairman Appleby said if anyone is interested in being in charge
of parks with som~~to contact him. Supervisor Bradley suggested
that the chairman~oe the Planning and Zoning Board. Lawrence
Carlson said he puts in a skating rink in the park he has platted.
He could use some help in getting it started. It was questioned if he
could keep it up once it was started? He said the people would be
more than glad to help. He has previously put in a regulation
size hockey rink. Jim Nash said he could get us a water wagon,
if we pay the operator. Trueman Hulegaard said some of the parks
need a lot of work. They are being wasted by not being used.
Chairman Appleby will check with Wally Johnson on the rink at the
school.
Supervisor Schneider made a motion we accept the final plat of
Hartfiel's Estates, with the stipulation they build on every other
lot until sewer comes in. Bradley seconded and it passed.
Supervisor Bradley made a motion that $225 be allowed for the
P & Z Commission to purchase topographic maps. The developer would
furnish the topo maps on preliminary plats. Schneider seconded and

Herb Moore asked that we put in street lights from Crosstown east
on Bunker Lae Blvd. to Xavis e.nd 1 bloc~s:: over to 138 and also
include 138. There has been a lot of stealing in that area.

Cecil Heidlàerger as1-s.:ed how much we he.ve in the gopher fund? $66.
Bob Chap!l:e,n and Carl Jovanovich as::ed about building a bouble
bungalow on lot 6 orr Po~py Street. Attorney Beens said it would
require a special use permit and if he wanted to apply, it should
be in b:'l Friday, October 15, so the notices could be sent to
property owners within 300 feet.
Hr. Hoium asked for a'YGroval of 171 Lane IT,W. The road W8S,cmt in vlit"l-
out the recommend&tion~of F & Z. Supervisor Bradley ~~ould
not be approved because of the lots fronting on a county highway.
Schneider seconded.
