Regular meeting of the board of supervisors of Grow Township was held at Crooked Lake School
November 10 at 8:15 p.m. Present were Chairman Appleby, Supervisors Schneider and Winner,
Building Inspector Langseth, Planning and Zoning Commissioners Jones, Stout, Rither, Christian-
son and others.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved and/he treasurer gave her report.
Chairman Appleby instructed the clerk to notify kennel owners whose licenses were due for re-
newal that they should pick up their next year's license.
5...bject of junk yard licenses was raised. Chairman Appleby indicated the attorney It> d suggested
rewriting the entire ordinance.
He also said the attorney had quoted a cost of $1,000 to publish the new zoning ordinance. Winner
moved, it was seconded and passed to okay this cost.
Heidelberger suggested a requirement for licneses be a sales tax permit and number in the cases
of kennels and junk yards, etc.
Frank Schoonover requested a license for his stone shop. ¡ ,,_~ iu 'sd
Road problems were then discussed. It was stated that the pond in the Quickstrom Addisition
needs draining. Truman Hu legaard and the board are to check on it the fo lIowing Thursday.
Cordell Wellman of Ham Lake Township requested some sort of maintenance arrangement with Grow
on the portion of University Avenue Extension which is shared by the two townships. Supv. ~
Scneider moved we take care of grading and snow plowing the road and send a bill to Ham Lake
Township on a quarterly basis for their half of the cost. It was seconded and possed.
A complaint fromthe Woodstroms was read asking Rosella Sonsteby clean up her property on both
sides of their home. Mrs. Sonsteby claims other difficulties are involved and says she will not
clean it up. The town board will look over the property on following Saturday.
Norman Stout showed new land use map, indicating that the Planning & Zoning Commission is
working out itemized plans for southern port of township so Metro Sewer Board can plan sewer
facilities in Coon Rapids. Leonard Noren requested a II residents invo Ived in any new sewer
installations be notified by mail.
Roger Hammer asked if 139th & 140th Avenues between Crooked Lake Road and Uplander are town
roads or private property and who has to maintain them? Question was tabled pending advice from
absent attorney. He also asked if more bungalows can be built between now and time new zoning
ordinance is possed and publ ished. Supv. Schneider moved a moratorium be place on building of
multiple dwellings in Red Oaks Manor utnil new ordinance is published pending attorney's opinion
of legality of moratorium.
Harvey Fisk requested something be done to 139th and 140th. Board to chekc situation Saturday.
Ralph Moores presented final plat for Moores Estates. Supv. Schne ider moved the board accept
the plat. It was se,aonded and passed.
