HomeMy WebLinkAboutMay . ' - ., . '.., > The regular meeting of the Grow Township Board of Supervisors was held May 12 at Crooked Lake Schoo J. It was called to order at 8 p.m. by Chairman Louis Appleby with supervšsors Schneider and Winner, Attorney Bobcock, Planning Board members Stout, Rither, Langseth, Christianson, Hu lasek and others present. Minutes were approved as corrected and treasurer gave a report. On the subject of the proposed burning ordinance, the Planning and Zoning Board reported that the Pollution Control Board had taken care of it. ~Ianning and Zoning Board recommended that no shooting be permitted within 200 yeards of at}' building and that a permit be necessary as stipulated in present ordinance and that said permit be renewed annually. Mr. Babcock stated that the landowner shou Id not be the,- person to say who shoots or not. Mr. Babcock will write up suggested legal wording for the proposed addi- tion to the shooting ordinance and present it at the next meeting. Mr. Da niels spoke for the Coon Rapids Recreation Deportment as to the schedule of swimming and swimming lessons being offered this year. The fee has been set up by Coon Rapids as $1.50 for residents and $2.50 for non-residents (which <would include Grow). Mr. Schneider moved that Grow Township pay the $1 difference between reside~on-res ident fees for children from Grow who reg ister for lessons. The req6lest for a study of Crooked Lake pollution and where it comes from was discussed. It was proposed that Coon Rapids pay $1,500, Anoka Couny $1,500, Grow, Township $1,000, and the Crooked: Lake Homeowners Assoc iation $300 for the study. Mr. Wick from th e assoc iat ion explained reasons for having the study and that it was rapidly becoming too late to do anything. Supv. Winner moved Grow Township go along with the study to the extent of $1,000. ,;.,¡ ~U"''''¡ It was announced that junk yard license renewals are coming due. M"'f1"rJ.~.I· Mr. Babcock reported that interim planning and zoning ordinance was ready to be reviewed by the attorneys before publishing a hearing date. This is to save time and extra steps. Mr. Ho lasek brought up dumping on roadway and requested signs be posted. Lyle Bradley suggested board get the state to put up no littering signs. ResidaTs of 139th St. brought up speed problem. The board offered to furn ish 30 mile speed signs and the residents will put them up. Mr. Brad ley reported that Grow 5 ite is 1 of 2 fino Is for zoo log ica I gardens.
