The Board of Supervisors of , JW Township met in Crooked Lake _~hool, Tuesday, June 9,
at 8: 10 p.m. Present were Supervisors Winner, Appleby and Schneider, Constable Hulegaard,
Planning and Zoning Commissioners Rither, Jones, Stout, Christianson, Langseth and others.
Minutes were read and approved as corrected. Treasurer gave her report.
Sam Gesco, Jr., City Manager of Anoka presented the subject of annexing Faddlers 4th
Addition to facilitate sewer installation to the new school. Since the school needs
sewer by Sept. 8, he requested Grow Township to waive the 60 day period in which to object
to annexation. After consulting Mr. Faddler, who says he will get all necessary signatures
for the petition for annexation, Supv. Winner moved that the 60 day period be waived. It
was seconded and passed.
David Lil1igren of Red Oaks Manor questioned about sewer service to his section of Grow
and was informed it will come from Coon Rapids when it comes.
Supv. Schneider moved that the 60 day period on annexation of County Road 9 property be
waived. It was seconded and passed. Resolutions to the effect that Grow Township has
waived these two waiting periods were signed and filed with the clerk.
Supv. Schneider moved, it was seconded and passed that the attorney write each holder of
a junkyard license of 30 days from receipt of letter to put up fences to satisfaction of
the board or their license will not be renewed. ~
Schneider moved, it was seconded and passed that both junkyard and kennel' license~ $20.
Mr. Langseth suggested plumbers and sewer system installers come to him to be registered
before doing work in Grow Township. Schneider so moved, it was seconded and passed.
Gas service installation was discussed and it was determined that Grow cannot grant fran-
chises.
30-mile-an-hour speed limit declared legal by state highway dept. for 139th Ave. from
Co. 18 to Quinn'. Board wi 11 also orde'r "Slow Chi ldren" signs. Schneider moved we order
a dozen; it was seconded and passed.
The bad condition of the snowplow was brought up. It was agreed that the board accept
bids from outside contractors in the next' month or so for 'doing the plowing next year.
Att. Beens said the board should get at least two bids and keep them on file and go ahead
and dispose of the town truck.
Supv. Winner moved, it was seconded and passed that a township newsletter be mailed to
residents of Grow quarterly. The clerk and Mr. Rither wi]] write, print, address and mail
it including a request for response. If the response is not satisfactory, after the first
couple of mailings, it will be discontinued.
