The meeting was then turned over to Midwest Planning representative who introduced Wayne Elliot. Mr. Elliot discussed necessity of controls within site=sewer and water9 lot sizes, regulations on well depths and cesspool locations. Development of water systems is the first way to go~ in case of contaminated areas. Any sewage system would have to have a high degree of treatment because of lotl1 volume of water in streams we have available for use. A I:packageH system or sewage lagoon system was~ also, discussed. The lagoon system takes substantial land with limited service area. The lagoon system at Wavezly was discussed. The cost to service about 1000 people is $809000.00. Sewer lines in ground have approximately 100 year life. System has to be balanced for present use and future gr.owth. 0 The first step for sewage system is a preliminary engineering report to establish feaSibility, cost~ and assessment of costs; plans are then drawn ~p and assessments of costs levied; public hearing; bids let; andD actusl completion of project.
