PARK AND RECREATION COMMISION REGULAR MEETING July 19, 1984 MEMBERS PRESENT: Kinkade, Prochniak, LeFebvre MEMBERS ABSENT: Carlson, Nichols, Syzplinski DISCUSSION ON COMPLETION OF CITY HAll SITE In order to complete Phase II of the City Hall site the following is proposed: Grading and seeding of soccer field and the 2 ball fields (no ag lime on one) to be completed by fall of 1984. Continue parking lot and prepare picnic area by 1985. Order equipment, lighting, and sprinkling system etc. by 1986. Prochniak stated that Mr. Schrantz give an estimate of approximately $15,000 per field for completion. The Commission will work together to get a presentation prepared for the City Council. Kinkade stated that he would make an overhead slide for the presentation. DISCUSSION It was decided to spend the remainder of budget (code 530 - improvements) in the amount of $3193 for the grading and seeding of Rose Park to be completed in the fall of 1984 upon approval of the City Council and after getting quotes fr~m the City Engineer relative to cost. No motion was made due to lack of quorum. SHIRlEYS PARK The general feeling of those present at the meeting was concern about the grading and seeding being completed by fall and the fact that the grading was not acceptable at this point in the project. Hopefully, the engineer will contact the developer regarding this matter. COMMUNITY SCHOOL BUDGET The secretary of the Commission was asked to write a letter to Melanie Deluca requesting that she submit her proposal for the 1985 budget along with the current balance as of August 1984 or as much information as possible by August 2nd for the work meeting. DISCUSSION GENERAL It was decided to have a work meeting on August 2, 1984 to discuss the City Hall site recommendations to City Council and work on the budget for 1985. Full attendance for this meeting and for the meeting on August 16, 1984 are required in order to prepare the 1985 budget properly. The secretary was asked to check on the final plans for Shirley's and North Glen II and to have them ready to go over at the August 16th meeting. -2- DISCUSSION GENERAL (CONT) There was discussion regarding the fact that a representative from the Park and Recreation Commission should attend at least one meeting of the City Council a month. The Park and Recreation Commission is short one member and it was suggested to post that position in the paper. Respectfully submitted,
