WWW.CI.ANDOVER.MN.US PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING - FEBRUARY 19,2004 MINUTES The Regular Bi-Monthly Meeting of the Andover Park and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairman Lindahl on February 19, 2004, 7:03 p.m., at the Andover City Hall, 1685 Crosstown Boulevard NW, Andover, Minnesota. Commissioners Present: Chairman Jim Lindahl, Dave Blackstad, Devon Walton and Valerie Holthus. Commissioners Absent: Thomas Goodmanson, Ernest Bedor, and Dan Masloski. Also Present: Civil Engineer ill Jason Law RESIDENTS FORUM () There were no comments. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by Blackstad, seconded by Holthus, to approve the February 5, 2003 Park Commission minutes as presented. Motion carried on a 3-ayes, O-nays, I-present (Blackstad), 3-absent vote. REVIEW OF OAKVIEW PARK zND ADDITION PRELIMINARY PLAT Chair Lindahl stated the proposed plat is located in the southeast comer of the intersection of 16151 Avenue NW (CSAH 20) and Crane Street NW. Four (4) lots are proposed. If the Commission recalls, there will be a future park located just to the southeast of this small development in Oakview Park (phase I). Motion by Blackstad, seconded by Walton, to accept a cash donation in lieu of parkland for dedication. Motion carried on a 4-ayes, O-nays, O-present, 3-absent vote. REVIEW OF BLOMBERG SKETCH PLAN Chair Lindahl stated the proposed sketch plan is located just west of Prairie Road NW and along the north side of 140th Lane NW. REVIEW OF ROUSSEAU SKETCH PLAN Chair Lindahl stated the proposed sketch plan is located in the northeast comer of the intersection of Jay Street NW and 133rd Avenue NW. Four (4) lots are being proposed. Motion by Holthus, seconded by Blackstad, to accept a cash donation in lieu of parkland for dedication. Motion carried on a 4-ayes, O-nays, O-present, 3-absent vote. REVIEW OUTSTANDING ITEMS Chair Lindahl reviewed the on going and on hold projects list. Commissioner Blackstad requested that the Sunshine Park Picnic Shelter landscaping be added to the on-going projects list. Mr. Law stated the Skateboard Task Force needs to meet with Mr. Haas. CHAIR'S REPORT Commissioner Blackstad stated there will be a community meeting Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at 7 p.m. at Oakview Middle School. The informational meeting is regarding the community center. Chair Lindahl stated he attended the last City Council meeting and the grant for the boat landing was discussed. Mr. Law stated the Council decided to go ahead with the grant application. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Blackstad, seconded by Walton, to adjourn the meeting at 7:11 p.m. Motion carried on a 4-ayes, O-nays, 3-absent vote.
