ACC Expansion Update Project estimates have been submitted by RIM and they are currently at $17.8. RIM and 292 Design will present information to the city council on April 16, 2019 where the council will vote to approve the plans and specs so that they can be released to go out for bid. Erick encouraged members of the commission to attend the city council meeting. Additional dates to note are the pre -bid walk through scheduled for Thursday, May 2nd at 1 pm. This is a time for contractors bidding on the project to walk through the facility. Bid opening is scheduled for May 21, 2019. RJM will compile bid results and present to the city council on June 4d'. If the project is approved, construction would likely begin August/September. Erick shared elevation drawings with the commission and asked for feedback on the proposed white wash design finish of the outside of the building. After reviewing the sketches, most commission members preferred drawing "D". The City of Andover has also been working with AHYHA regarding an additional donation of $250,000 above and beyond their original donation of $500,000. AHYHA would directly purchase the hockey boards (est. $150,000) Sound System (est. $50,000) and Scoreboard (est. $25,000) for the new multipurpose sports complex. The city attorney is currently working on an agreement that would be signed by the city and AHYHA. Ted mentioned that he hasn't had an opportunity to meet with Jim regarding the discussion of the potential new field house court and the R.O.I. Andover YMCA Community Center Advisory Commission Minutes April 10, 2019 Commission asked the status of the YMCA expansion. Erick understands that information will be presented to the YMCA General Board of Directors in May. In regard to the proposed dryland/open space area on the 2"d level of the multi -purpose sports complex, Ted wants to ensure that associations are notified asap, so they have time to think about how they could utilize this space and to be able to raise funds to be used towards purchasing desired equipment. Erick stated that if the project is approved, staff will be reaching out to the associations regarding their interest. Tony Peterson questioned the height of the dryland room, Erick said he'd check on dimensions. AHYHA Update Tony Peterson said they are projecting 19 traveling teams next year. Up 2 teams from 2018/2019 season. At their next AHYHA board meeting, they will be voting on appointing a person to represent AHYHA on the advisory commission. Cindy will add Nick Giacomini to the advisory commission email list. YMCA Update No update available. ACC Update Staff has been working on Fall and Winter schedules. The MN State High School Hockey League has made some revisions to the 2019-2020 hockey season where teams will play in -conference teams, one time per season (in the past, each team was played twice). Teams can schedule to play a team twice, but the game will be treated as a non -conference game. Last year there were 26 home games and this year, there are 19 proposed home games scheduled at this time. Approximately 125 students are participating in ACC Spring Learn to Skate programs. The Spring session has continued to grow by approx. 15 students every year since 2016. Staff have met with the Learn to Skate coaching staff and all skate programs will be moving from Saturday mornings to Sunday late afternoons beginning, this Fall 2019. The move will allow more flexibility in the coaching staff, assist with scheduling skate guard shifts while allowing AHYHA more time on Saturday mornings to host home hockey games.
