Motion carried unanimously. Approval of Minutes Motion by Val Holthus seconded by Tony Peterson to approve April 9, 2018 meeting minutes. Motion carried unanimously. Discussion Items Expansion Update — Erick reviewed the two most recent drawings provided by the 292 Design Group. The © handouts are labeled Option A and Option B dated 05.09.18. Erick stated that additional information and drawings will be sent to the advisory commission as they become available. Future Meeting Calendar — Erick reminded commission members that budget and rental rates will be discussed at the upcoming June and July advisory commission meetings. The Andover City Council has two upcoming city council workshops scheduled to discuss expansion. They will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd and Tuesday, June 26th . Erick encouraged all commission members to attend these meetings. ACC Staff will send out additional information to commission members once it becomes available. The annual year in review presentation that is typically given to the council around this time of year will be given at a later date as the current focus is on the year to come. 4) AHYHA Update — AHYHA is starting to get things ready for the upcoming 2018-2019 season. AHYHA estimates that approximately 12 Bantams players out of 30 will be going to the high school teams, leaving the remaining kids with no place to play within AHYHA unless a Jr. Gold team becomes established. Tony Peterson indicated that the AHYHA is looking at how they can achieve their goal of adding a Jr. Gold Team by securing early morning ice hours at the ACC and possibly renting additional ice at the East Bethel Ice Arena. Jr. Gold would start Mid -November after high school tryouts. Tony Howard stated how important it is to invest in the future of the girls' program to help keep them motivated. Mr. Howard suggested that we look at utilizing former AHYHA hockey players who are now or had been playing division hockey. 10 5) YMCA Update — The Andover YMCA saw 55,000 visits in April 2018 vs April 2017 where they saw 5,100 visits, they suspect the weather played a role in the increase of visits. The Summer programs are about 80% filled. They will expect about 450 kids per day between the Andover YMCA Community Center and Andover YMCA Community Center Advisory Commission Minutes © May 14, 2018 Camp Guy Robinson. On Wednesday, May 23`d they will host a healthy aging day at the Andover YMCA Community Center. 6) ACC Update — Erick reviewed the ACC status report. The community center will be hosting several upcoming Jr. Level Hockey Pre -Draft Camps. Cindy stated that Tot Time Open Gym has ended for the season with more than 400+ families participating in this year's program. Instead of offering a 6 session learn to skate summer learn to skate program, the community center is trying something a bit different by offering four Family Fun Skate Nights with different themes, Cindy provided a flyer to commission members. Next meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 11, 2018 at 6 pm. Due to room availability, the meeting will be held at Andover City Hall. Meeting Adjourned at 7:25 pm Submitted by, Cindy Ramseier Lal H
