Discussion Items Expansion Update — Erick Sutherland and Val Holthus provided an update to the commission regarding the June 26 Andover City Council Workshop meeting where 292 Design Group presented information to the city council. The council decided to move forward with design/development plans for review. Val mentioned that a city council member posted information about the city council workshop on facebook and that the post has raised a lot of questions from residents. Val suggested that a fact sheet be made available to residents at the city council booth during Fun Fest to help residents understand timeline as it pertains to the expansion discussion. Val will contact Jim Dickinson to see if a fact sheet could be made in time for Fun Fest this weekend. ACC staff will provide copies of the Andover Community Center and YMCA partnership brochure for the council booth to hand out as needed. Frank suggested that we put together a document with current facility users and numbers that go along with those groups to help show residents who's using the facility. Staff will continue to update the current facility users document that was started a while back and update it with 2017 numbers and figure out the number of visits that go along with those users. Facility Rental Rates 2018-2019 — Erick distributed a revised Andover Community Center Fee Schedule. Correction was made to read $4 Youth and Adult Andover Resident and $6 Adult Non -Andover Resident Open Gym Fees. Erick also handed out a document named Andover Community Center Fee Increases which showed potential revenue increase if rates were increased for 2018-2019. A final document was then handed out of the Community Center Capital Plan 2019 — 2023. Frank Kellogg asked Tony Peterson what the financial impact to AHYHA would be if ice rental was to increase by $10/hr.Tony P. indicated about $8,000. Discussion amongst commission members were to consider skate sharpening increase from $4 to $5 and if a $10 increase in prime ice rental was implemented to also increase the non -prime ice rate $10 too. Val Holthus felt that we could lose customers if the building is not maintained. The advisory commission tabled voting on rates until the August meeting when the proposed budget for 2018-2019 will be available.
