(763) 755-5100 FAX (763) 755-8923 • WWW.ANDOVERMN.GOV Board of Review 7:00 PM Monday, April 17, 2017 at Andover City Hall Council Chambers C ANDOVER BOARD OF REVIEW APRIL] 7,2017 —MINUTES The Annual Board of Review was called to order by Mayor Julie Trude at 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2017, at the Andover City Hall, 1685 Crosstown Boulevard NW, Andover, Minnesota. Councilmembers present: Sheri Bukkila, James Goodrich, Valerie Holthus, and Mike Knight Councilmembers absent: None Appointed Board Member: Jim Dickinson, City Administrator Also Present: Jason Dagostino, Anoka County Residential Assessor John Leone, Anoka County Commercial Assessor Mayor Trude reviewed the guidelines for tonight's meeting One resident was in the audience; however he withdrew his name after receiving his property tax information from the City Administrator. Mr. Dagostino indicated value notices were sent out in March and 57 phone calls were received from residents. He stated the market is very strong at this time and values are going up. There were 448 home sales in Andover in the last year, with the median sale price of $281,000 up from last year at this time which was $238,000. Mr. Leone described the commercial transactions that had taken place in Andover during the past year. He noted that overall, there were not a lot of sales of commercial properties throughout the County. Mr. Leone indicated he did not receive any calls from commercial business owners regarding their property valuation. Councilmember Knight asked if there are many senior living facilities being built in the neighboring communities. Mr. Leone answered that actually there are quite a few. Mayor Trude stated the City is fortunate to have many business come to our City in the last year, Acapulco, ReMax, the strip mall on the corner of Hanson Boulevard and Bunker Lake Boulevard and the Animal Hospital. There were no further questions. Mr. Dagostino indicated he reviewed nine properties and the valuation was changed. Motion by Councilmember Holthus, Seconded by Knight approving the valuation changes to the nine properties listed. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Dickinson indicated with no other appeals to be heard, Mayor Trude could request a closing of the Board of Review.
