Staff Report
YMCA — Allison provided a handout to the commission for review.
ACC — In addition to the handout, Erick provided a recap of the City Council workshop in which the City
Campus plan was discussed. The meeting focused on ensuring all the stakeholders comments were
accounted for and identified. Now that the architects have received all the comments they will begin to put
together a final concept which will be provided to the council later this winter.
CITY CAMPUS — Frank Kellogg asked if the South road at the YMCA/Community Center was needed
and would there be an option to remove that road as part of the new City Campus master plan. There was
discussion about creating a North/South frontage road along the West side of Hanson Blvd from 153rd to the
City Hall parking lot. This road would provide access to both the East side of the Community Center along
with the City Hall parking lot. By doing so the South puking access road at the YMCA/Community Center
could possibly be eliminated allowing needed green space, splash pad, and additional expansion
opportunities within close proximity to the existing facility. In addition, parking could back flow from the
new frontage road providing some additional spaces along with better safety for pedestrians in and out of
the facility.
• After additional discussion, a motion was made by Ted Butler and seconded by Tony Howard to provide
additional comments to the architects of the City Campus plan. The ACC Advisory Commission is looking
at the feasibility of adding a N/S frontage road on the East side of the facility and if by doing so, the existing
South service road the at YMCA/Community Center could be removed.

MARKETING PLAN — Joy and Erick provided an update to the marketing plan. Additional advertising
within the facility continues to be explored. Joy and Erick met with AJ Indoor Marketing to review some
additional opportunities.
Field Trips were also discussed with the thought of reaching out to special groups within the school district.
The different clubs and associations within each school can be targeted for potential field trips.
Joy has started some discussions with River Valley Girls Scouts. With over 30k girls in the program there is
an opportunity to provide field trips along with special programs in which the girls can earn their badges. A
few ideas Joy mentioned were ice skating, swimming, fitness and additional classroom rental. There may be
an opportunity to not only rent some facility time /space but also provide the needed instruction to help the
girls earn badges. Joy will continue the discussion with River Valley.
Meeting adjourned at 8:35 pm
