To Whom It May Concern:
I am seeking consideration for the Andover Community Center Advisory Commissioner
As an active user of both the Community Center (pickle ball and walking dub) and the YMCA
(strength training and conditioning area), I have had the opportunity to experience many of the
programs offered. My experience and educational training as a teacher and coach provides me with the
knowledge of appropriate activities for youth. My advanced years gives me the experience of what
maybe desired and/or appropriate for senior citizens. I have worked, and continue to work, with the
Minnesota State High School League's Adapted Athletic programs. This has provided me with the
awareness of the unique needs of people with mental and/or physical handicaps. I was also the School
District's strength and conditioning coach and I bring some of that knowledge to this position.
I bring a commitment and broad knowledge to this position. I bring at least 25 years in each of the
athletic areas with which I was involved: football (boys); basketball (boys and girls); track (boys and
girls); and adapted athletics (physically and/or mentally handicapped boys and girls). As a Vietnam
Veteran I bring a commitment to this country and as a 39 year resident, I bring a commitment to the
City of Andover.
Since I have been retired from teaching and coaching for more than a decade (I continue to be involved
with adapted athletics in an advisory position.), I have the time and flexibility to commit to this
important Advisory position.
Sincerely,
,yp 1

RE: Andover Community Center Advisory Commissioner Position
Dear Dana,
I am very interested in taking on the role of Andover Community Center Advisory Commissioner. As an
Andover resident for over 10 years I have a vested interested in making Andover a community that provides
opportunities for active families such as mine.
Because I am a person committed to my own physical health by competing in local and national Iriathlons, I
am a firm believer in providing families opportunity to be healthy at the youth, high school and adult levels.
My own kids have been very active in Andover sports from soccer, football, basketball, hockey and track &
field. Because healthy adults make healthy kids, healthy families also make healthy communities!
I am also a believer in contributing my time and talents to serving my community. Currently, I am the
Andover Boys Track and Field Booster Club President and a Track and Field Team Coach for Andover
Athletic Association. However, what may truly set me apart from your other candidates is my experience as
a small business owner in the neighboring city of Blaine. In this role I have gained extensive knowledge of
business and community relations by volunteering my time and professional expertise to work with other
business owners, city , county and state officials in a joint effort to support the business community and its
residents during a multi -year road construction'pmject of the Hwy 65 overpass over Main Street
Along with my community involvement, I believe my rich background in sales and marketing and strong
administrative talents I can exceed the expectation of this position. I am confident as an addition to your
team not only will I achieve the desired results for this position, I will be a great team member that everyone
can count on. I am excited by the prospect of making a difference in the Andover community and helping it
grow to its fullest potential
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon
