Clyde Dale Riddel Andover, MN. 55304 May 15, 2015 Andover City Hall 1685 Crosstown Boulevard, N.W. Andover, MN. 55304 To Whom It May Concern: I am seeking consideration for the Andover Community Center Advisory Commissioner As an active user of both the Community Center (pickle ball and walking dub) and the YMCA (strength training and conditioning area), I have had the opportunity to experience many of the programs offered. My experience and educational training as a teacher and coach provides me with the knowledge of appropriate activities for youth. My advanced years gives me the experience of what maybe desired and/or appropriate for senior citizens. I have worked, and continue to work, with the Minnesota State High School League's Adapted Athletic programs. This has provided me with the awareness of the unique needs of people with mental and/or physical handicaps. I was also the School District's strength and conditioning coach and I bring some of that knowledge to this position. I bring a commitment and broad knowledge to this position. I bring at least 25 years in each of the athletic areas with which I was involved: football (boys); basketball (boys and girls); track (boys and girls); and adapted athletics (physically and/or mentally handicapped boys and girls). As a Vietnam Veteran I bring a commitment to this country and as a 39 year resident, I bring a commitment to the City of Andover. Since I have been retired from teaching and coaching for more than a decade (I continue to be involved with adapted athletics in an advisory position.), I have the time and flexibility to commit to this important Advisory position.
