Absent: Tony Howard. Call to Order 6:00 pm The committee welcomed Missey Hayko as the newest commission member. Missey is the Director of MN Premier Volleyball Club. Missey will be fulfilling the remaining term of Robin Chambers. Ms. Chambers resigned from the commission due to family medical issues. Approval of Minutes — November 18, 2013 - minutes approved as written. YMCA Update Allison handed out a year -end summary to commission members. In addition: • 50% of memberships are family memberships, highest percentage of all Y's. • 60,000 member visits in January and 7,000 kids visited the Kid's Stuff Area. • 339 New memberships in January ACC Update Status Report: Staff reviewed the status report which was included in the meeting packet. The commission had asked about adult opportunities within the facility. The YMCA's Active Older Adult program has grown considerably. Cindy will send comission members the monthly AOA newsletter. Keep in mind, many of these activities are open to the public and a YMCA membership is not required to participate. The community center actively supports and helps advertise these events through the city's website, city newsletter and in ACC lobby racks. Budget Report: Commission reviewed budget sheets. Erick noted that $8,000 was incorrectly recorded to 2012. That amount should have been put into the 2011 ice rental account. This revenue was for programs that took place in November/December 2011, however was allocated in the 2012 budget year. Ice Rental hours lower in 2013 due to the AHYHA Summer Development Program starting a month later than usual. Moved from August to September. Future CIP items to note are • Full rubber flooring replacement in the ice rink • Field house floor Andover YMCA Community Center Advisory Commission Minutes February 10, 2014 Other Business: Mike Knight noted that several new residential developments are under construction and a new business and church have also expressed an interest in moving in to the city. Subway — Service has improved. Commission wondered if Subway would want to do a promotion to try and win some customers back from prior bad experiences. I.E. customer appreciation day .... coupon, etc. Erick will follow -up with management to see if that is something they'd like to pursue. There will be no meeting in March due to spring break and vacations. The next meeting will be scheduled for Monday, April 7, 2014.
