Dear Open Spaces Commission,
I'm interested in the opening on the Open Spaces Commission for a variety of reasons.
First, I've been a resident of Andover for 42 years and am now retired so I have the time to
devote to give something back to the community. I'm a lifelong outdoorsman and know the
value of open spaces and its increasing importance as the population in this area grows.
Second, as you can see from the information below, I have a strong background in the plant -
animal -human ecology area and understand how it all ties together. Also, as a Certified-
Master Beekeeper I fully understand the importance of preserving native habitat to all our
indigenous inhabitants and native pollinators as well as honey bees.
Finally, through my various endeavors over my work life I've learned to work well with a
wide variety of people to accomplish common goals. Plus I'll actually attend all the
meetings! However, if you're looking for a computer wizard, spreadsheet artist or number
cruncher — then I'm not your guy.
I look forward to meeting with you.
Sincerely
