ANDOVERS © Grrmrnunit� �anf�r Andover YMCA Community Center Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes Monday, May 14, 2012 6:30 pm Meeting Room B In Attendance: Tony Howard, Erick Sutherland, Robin Chambers, Mark Chevalier (left at 7:15 pm), Mike Knight, Allison Boes, Frank Kellogg Absent: Ted Butler Call To Order 6:35 pm Approval of Minutes — April 9, 2012 minutes approved as written. QYMCA Update: • Partnership established with new physical therapy business across the street — offering pool therapy services. • April numbers were slightly short of goal. • Advertising special summer membership package & summer camp info (at 80% capacity). • Upcoming Y Partners Campaign Events: Healthy Living Race with Essentials of Life Chiropractic - June 23rd and first golf tournament at Majestic, Tuesday, September 18a • Currently filling full -time employment slots The YMCA averages between 3,200 and 3,500 membership units. Mr. Kellogg asked what the percentage of total membership numbers were those of Andover residents. Ms. Boes stated 46% - Andover Residents — the remaining amount is made up of residents of Coon Rapids, Blaine, St. Francis, Ham Lake, East Bethel, Anoka and Ramsey. ACC Staff Update The commission reviewed & discussed the status report. Mr. Kellogg requested to take a look at the forecasted budget at our next meeting. H Andover YMCA Community Center Advisory Commission May 14, 2012 © Page 2 Youth Center /Building Expansion Discussion Areas of Interest Identified by the YMCA were: • Youth/Sr Space /Sport Training Area • Exercise Space (Group X) • Multi- Purpose Area with Mirrors • Dance & Youth Programs for ages 7 -12 • Summer Programs • Admin Space /Offices Located Next to "New Multi- Purpose Area" • Parking Areas of Interest Identified by the Andover Community Center were: • Meeting Rooms • Multi- Purpose Rooms (Rec Program Space) • Storage • Move Skate Rental/Pro Shop to Original Planned Space • Reception Area/Admin Office Areas of Interest Identified by the Current Facility Users: • Hockey dryland/storage - AHYHA • Batting Cages — ABA/ACC • Turf (rolled out in multi - purpose area) Other Business None Next meeting will be held, Monday, June 11"` at 6:30 pm.
